I saw Linda because I’m estranged from my biological family and needed to make sure it was legally enforced — that they wouldn’t have the ability to visit me in the hospital, determine my medical care, get records of anything, have power over my finances, etc. Ms. MacKay was one of MANY lawyers I contacted, and she was the ONLY one who would provide the services I was looking for.

She was wonderful and non-judgmental to work with! It’s a difficult topic for me, and she handled it with grace. She was completely thorough and made sure she understood my wishes. I had a couple of things to add in after she sent me the draft papers, and she added those in no problem. She explained everything thoroughly so I understood all implications and she used plain language that I could understand. Her rate was very reasonable, as well.

This is one of those rare times that I have no hesitation in recommending a business, especially a lawyer. 😉 If you are looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable person to help plan your estate, I highly recommend you talk with Linda. Initial consultation is free. On my visit, I had many questions in which Linda took the time to explain. She brought up points that I hadn’t thought of. Best part of the conversation is she talks plain English, not legalese. And if you don’t understand, she patiently explains it. My documents took approximately 10 days for the first draft to be produced. While reviewing, I emailed her questions on multiple weekends and to my surprise she answered promptly! The final documents came in a nice binder with the various sections tabbed. I’ve seen other trusts that look like a grade school report. You know, clear cover with 3 metal prongs to hold your papers. I also asked her for financial planner referrals and instead of just throwing out a name, she asked me questions so she could provide names who would best fit my goals.

So, what else can I say about her that others haven’t? Oh, she can write upside down really well. LOL
